A two-day Visioning and Strategic Planning
Workshop on Voluntary Arbitration is scheduled on February 26-27, 2004 to
be conducted by the National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB) together
with the Tripartite Voluntary Arbitration Advisory Council (TVAAC).
Various changes in the field of labor relations have occurred and the visioning exercise will realign the vision and mission of the voluntary arbitration program, and its strategies that is most suited to the rapidly changing times.
NCMB Acting Executive Director Romeo
A. Young said that it is high time for the Board and the TVAAC to thresh out
issues and recommend solutions necessary in strengthening the voluntary
arbitration program. The NCMB has been promoting the voluntary arbitration
program for the past 15 years.
The TVAAC, composed of representatives from the
tripartite sectors, assists the NCMB in the promotion of the voluntary
arbitration program through the
promulgation of policies and guidelines that would help improve the
acceptability of the program.
Twenty-six participants from the NCMB, TVAAC, the Philippine Association on Voluntary Arbitration (PAVA) and the National Academy of Voluntary Arbitration (NAVA) are expected to attend the two-day activity to be held at the First Villa Cristina Hotel and Resort in Antipolo City.
