RCMB 3 and CDC Conducted Seminar on Skills
Development
The Regional Conciliation and Mediation Branch
(RCMB) in Region III in coordination with Clark Development Corporation (CDC) conducted
a skills development seminar to enhance workplace relations and harmony in
maintaining a healthy business environment. The seminar which was entitled
“Skills Development for Enhanced Workplace Relations” was held on August 17 –
18, 2006 at the Clark Museum, Clark Development Corporation, Clark Special
Economic Zone, Pampanga.
The seminar was conceptualized to promote the
Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) of DOLE particularly the culture of the conciliation-mediation
program of NCMB and the pro-active mechanisms resorted to by the Board to
settle and resolve issues before it becomes out to be a full-blown dispute. It
also aimed at enhancing the participants’ knowledge and skills on communication
and resolution of conflict in the workplace and providing the participants with
positive attitudes in sustaining quality worklife.
No less than DOLE Regional Director for Region III,
Nathaniel V. Lacambra graced the occasion and
delivered a message to the participants giving emphasis on the importance of
resolving disputes at the workplace after the participants were welcomed by Mr.
Franco A.L. Madlangbayan, Customer Service Department
Manager of CDC. RCMB3 Officer-In-Charge,
Rodolfo C. Guevarra gave the overview of the seminar.
Topics discussed during the seminar include
Effective Communication, Conflict Dynamics, Negotiation Techniques and Labor
Standard Laws. Latest jurisprudence or
decisions on labor cases were also tackled during the seminar. The participants were likewise taught how to
de-stress themselves when the topic on stress management was addressed.
The seminar was attended by 29 participants from
unorganized establishments composed of Human Resource Managers and Employee
Representatives of the CDC locators and one organized establishment located
within the area.
