Last June 30, 2006, TGIF meant “There is Goodness in Farewell”, it was a farewell party for Director Mario Santos who retired after thirty-one (31) years in service.  Ma. Cristina Mangaliman fondly called “Kiti” was also given special recognition on that day since she will be transferred from NCMB-CO to RCMB III.

This activity is a joint effort and collaboration of DED Cañete’s office, birthday celebrants and Employees Association.

Come July 21, 2006, TGIF will be an activity of fixing and cleaning the office in preparation for its 5S Contest.  This time TGIF will mean “Thanks Goodness its Fixing Time!

All these and the coming TGIF will be in line with making NCMB workforce become a happy employee and individual.  Increase team effectiveness and promote camaraderie.  We are not then far from the mission of the new Secretary to keep and maintain a happy workplace with happy employees.

TGIF in NCMB

Buhay DOLE maiden publication in the Sabi ni SEC column entitled Be Happy! is very apt.  In fact in NCMB-CO, last June 23, 2006, a program dubbed as “Thanks Goodness It’s Friday” was launched.

Basically, it was conceptualized by Deputy Executive Director Johnson G. Cañete with nothing more in mind than the very familiar saying “All work and no play make Juan a dull boy”.

All succeeding activities shall bear the acronym TGIF but may connote any meaning dependent on the actual undertaking to be conducted.
