NCMB STAFF OPENS UP TO CREATIVITY THINKING

AND STRESS MANAGEMENT

 

         

The best way to have a good idea is to have a lot of ideas. By attending this Seminar-Workshop on Creativity and Stress Management, you have taken the first step to consciously open the lid of your bright ideas that would allow them to light up your work and life." 

 

This was the opening statement of Deputy Executive Director Johnson G. Canete when he started the two-day seminar-workshop on Creativity and Stress Management for all 44 NCMB Central Office Staff.  The seminar was conducted in two batches, on 27-28 February and 01-02 March 2007 at Seaman’s Center, Intramuros, Manila. 

 

The same seminar-workshop will be conducted to all other directors, conciliator-mediators, technical and administrative staff of NCMB nationwide. The Luzon Cluster is set on 20-21 March,  the Visayas Cluster on 12-13 April,  and the Mindanao Cluster on 19-20 April 2007.  The schedule for the Mega Cluster covering the NCMB Regional Branches of  NCR, III, IV-A and IV-B is yet to be set.

 

The program is intended to enhance the innate creativity of the men and women of NCMB by improving their imaginative and innovative skills as a team.  With alternative dispute resolution (ADR) as its forefront program, the NCMB team acts as facilitator and advocate of industrial peace and harmonious workplace relations   and partnership for labor and management.  The program thus, is seen to open up wider possibilities for the agency to continue its pursuit for innovative approaches and techniques toward labor-management collaboration.

 

The entire seminar consists of five modules, i.e., Module 1:“Is Everyone Creative?”, Module 2: “Opening Mental Locks To Creativity”, Module 3: “How Can We Enhance Creativity?”, Module 4: “Are Teams Good for Creativity?”,  and   Module 5: “What Are The Keys  To Creating Innovative Products, Services and Processes?”  The creativity modules are conducted through structured learning exercises, pen and paper exercises and music and a lot of fun activities.  It is supplemented with lectures on de-stressing techniques, time management, handling effective meetings and culminates with an action planning workshop.
